How To Find Secret Fishing Spots Using Google Earth

When people want to get away for a weekend of camping and fishing, they usually fire up their search engines or go off of local review guides.

Unfortunately, if a campground or fishing lake is listed on Yelp, it's probably going to be populated.

Fortunately, you can use Google Earth to help you find secluded fishing holes that haven't been overrun.

How to find secret fishing spots use Google Earth

First Open Google Earth

On your PC goto to and zoom in to where you live.

Look For Dark Spots

As you zoom in and out of your city, look for dark spots on the map. If the dark spots don't have much topography, there is a good chance you found a pond or lake.

Make Sure It's Legal

Once you find a spot that looks like it might be worth checking out, make sure it's legal. If you're respectful and clean up your campsite, many landowners have no problem sharing.
