4 Camping Tips You Can Do With Your Belt

Outside of keeping your pants from falling down, having a belt can come in handy during a camping trip or survival situation.

Besides the obvious tourniquet, you can use your belt in a few different ways to make your life easier.

Here are 4 cool camping tricks you can do with a belt

1. Bottle Opener

If you've got a cooler full of beer but forgot a bottle opener, you're going to have a hard time. But if you've got a belt, just use the buckle to pry open the lid.

You'll save your teeth and your hands.

2. Use it as a hanger

Wrap your belt around a tree, hang some hooks on it, and boom, you've got yourself an outdoor coat hanger.

You can also use this method to dry clothes or keep food away from animals.

3. Flashlight Cradle

Use a flashlight cradle when you need both hands.

Tighten your belt around the flashlight, then make a loop at the other end.

Hang the loop around a branch or wherever you need light.

Good for late night bathroom breaks.

4. Secure Your Sleeping Bag

Young campers will often lose their gear.  When it's something small but important like the compression sack of a sleeping bag, you need to get creative or that unrolled mummy bag will take up a lot of space.

Wrap your belt around the outside and tighten it as far as you can. Now you've got a compression case that you can carry.
